13. Buckle Up

Share With Friends

You serve twice a month at a local church, driving vans to pick up kids who live within three miles of the church. You’ve been picking up the same kids for two years, and you just learned of the child safety seat law, which requires child seats for nearly one-third of the kids you pick up. Some of the children have been riding with you for two years without these seats and would throw a fit if you tried to force them to ride in seats. Not only do you not have any child seats, some of the kids are within a couple of months and/or a couple of pounds of not needing the safety seats. You never let them sit in the front, and you are rarely on busy streets, but does that matter? What should you do?
