After you adopted your guiding principle, align your heart behind it—then stay put! Make the guiding principle the foundation upon which you build your decisions. Don’t allow circumstance, relational pressure, or promise of pleasure or payoff to sway you. When we align our hearts behind our guiding principle, we resolve to not move. Nineteenth century novelist George Eliot said, “Keep true, never be ashamed of doing right, decide on what you think is right, and stick to it.” The principle is formed in the mind, but it gains its strength in the heart.

1. Will you stand on the Golden Rule and not allow any person, pressure, or payoff to move you?

2. Do you have passion for good character? How important is a good name and good reputation to you?
